As ever a busy seven days in World Football. Heres a round up of the key events this week:
Lionel Messi received his third Ballon D’or in as many years. Still only 24, he joins an elite group of only three other players to have won the award three times. (Platini, Cruyff, van Basten).
Mark Hughes filled the the vacant position as Manager of QPR after Neil Warnock was sacked from the club last Sunday.
Henry’s comeback to Arsenal was sealed with a winner against Leeds United Monday night. The French forward has signed a 6 week loan deal from New York Red Bulls that can potentially be extended to 8 weeks.
Paul Scholes also made a comeback, coming on midweek and then starting for Manchester United yesterday – even getting on the score sheet. This move by Ferguson seemed to give a big enough clue to Darren Gibson about his own position in the team, the midfielder completed a move to Everton on Friday.
